e6k ignition problem? FD3S
1 Attachment(s)
So i ran into an issue with my fd. It has an e6k wired with the stock crank angle sensor. Once you go WOT in 2nd gear and when the tires break loose as the rpm's climb the car feels like his a fuel cut at aroudn 5-5k rpm. I dataloged and saw that it it doubles inj duty for no apparent reason? It doesn't do this when the tires don't spin like in 3rd or other gears or when its warmer out and 2nd isn't lighting up as easily. Not sure if the crank angle accelerating fast can cause this? It doesn't see to do it when you free rev in neutral either.
Has anyone else had an issue such as this? here is a short datalog from this event, that shows where the inj duty is doubled |
Do you feel it load up with fuel or just see it in the datalog? Is it always right at the point where you jump off the gas or if you keep your foot in it will it continue to show a hig pulse width?

You feel it. It is very upbrupt, hard enough to cause weight transfer to the front. I held my foot in it a tiny bit longer once and the pulse seemed to last longer. The motor is not happy when it hiccups, so your natural reaction is to lift. |
I asked because I was wondering if the high injection time might just be a lag in the data and showing non-staged injection as you're coming off the throttle. Guess not. No idea...

curious as well, as mine does the same thing!

I've seen that from time to time and I'd have to agree with Chris that it's probably just lag in the datalog. That thing only does what, 11 samples/sec if I recall correctly?
Also, look at your engine RPM's at lower 5kRPM's. Might need to adjust the reluctor Gain settings. RPM's should never bounce around like that at all. B |
what trigger gain and home gain values do you guys use?
last time i looked at this datalog i didn't remember as much rpm fluctuation i guess i will have to mess with the gain settings. as far as that doubling of the inj duty i suppose it could be the lag in haltech and it showing unstaged inj, but then why would it break-up so hard, its not like ign values nor the fuel values are changing from having the rpm scatter, unless the haltech just completely looses rpm signal? which i doubt |
