e6k fans staying on after I turn off the car

Ok I set op my fans to run off PWM 2 and 3 and when i turn the car off the fans go to the high setting. To turn the fans off I have to turn the key to the run postion. Is this a problem with the PWM or some thing else? like bad ignition switch.

its not a problem with the ECU when you turn the key off the ECU has no power so the PWM isnt doing anything....in fact you shouldnt have +12V at the fan for the fan to switch on at all when the key is off....id say you need to rethink your wiring someplace !!

Agreed, wiring is not correct.
Remember the Haltech PWM signals are all pull-down ground.

yeah I dont touch anything to the front wire harness exept cut and add the two PWM wires. It is just werid that the fans will be on low but when I turn the car off they turn to high. But I did install the red and black wire from the thrmo switch to the engine harness. So I might need to cut it.

I would have a read at the Auxiliar Output section of the E6K manual, it shows you a lot of ways to connect the different things the PWMs can control, also, the K manual is much more informative than the newer ones about these things and the inner workings of the haltech line.

Just as Claudio said, USE the manual...

Sounds like it is wired up incorrectly. You have to use a relay, to control Thermo Fans... you should NOT wire the PWM direct to the ground of the fan... You can source your 12v from any switched(or non switched doesn't matter) and run the PWM out to the relay...

Again, the manual is available for dowload from www.haltech.com, and that would be a good starting point...
