e6k > e6x ?
Hello. I was wondering why everyone eas using e6k instead of the newer e6x. Are they basically the same just e6k is cheaper or is e6k better?
|
Mostly its because the E6K is tried and true and its internal reluctor adaptor is apparently better suited to the FC's trigger.
The E6X had a few issues when it was brand new, everything's been sorted by this point and it would (and does) run these engines fine. There's also the price factor, but any E6K (unless you luck out and find an un-used new one like Claudio had :) ) you find will be used since they're no longer made, whereas the X can be purchased brand new. |
woops sorry for the spelling mistake above, was trying to post before heading to class, but the forum is being SOOOOO slow. :(
Anyways, after reading over the haltech site, I noticed that there isnt any closed loop control. After researching that I came to the conclusion that is only if you have severe weather / altitute changes? Also does the e6x have any more features than the e6k? One last question if you don't mind. Should I be scared to buy a used unit? There isn't really a way to break the ECU is there? I could see wireing harnesses being all screwed up, not not the ECU itself correct? Thanks. Opps I lied, one last last question. Is anybody disapointed or unsatified with the e6k or e6x compared to the e8 or E11v2? I am in the market for an ECU right now and I want to get everything I could ever need without paying to much. The only difference I see between the e6x and the e8 is closed loop boost control, and a user defined resolution. Am I missing something, or is that really worth the extra money? |
for the relative small $$$ difference between the e6x and e8 i think most people opt for the e8, at least i did, and love that system
a couple options that sold me on the e8 vs the X, that you should consider like you said... closed loop boost control user defined resolution but also.... a generic rpm/load PWM map....... for AI more load points just more all around features |
awesome ok thank you very much. I am starting to get excited. :)

There are plenty of reasons to buy an E8 over an E6X... but I have never had a problem with my E6X... However neither the 6K or 6X will not operate the electric oil meter pump
The only reason I am selling my X is because it wont run my next project like an E11 will |
E8/E11 Rulezz!! :D
