e6k and datalogging
 
I am looking for a little more data than what the e6k can show. I would like to use ecu manager but Im pretty sure I cant use it with e6k dos software. So what are my other opions? can I use a aftermarket logger like inovative and bridge it with my ecu or harness to get the gauges I want?

You will need a Platinum series ECU to run ECU Manager and Data Manager. None of the E-series ECUs are compatible.

What are you looking to log specifically? There are standalone logger boxes that work well. A logger dash would be another option. What are your needs?

the more the better for me. but the basics atleast a/f, egt , knoc , boost , ect.

Couple options. One would be a dedicated logger. Even though I consider their WBO2 systems junk, I like the Innovte loggers for the simple fact that their software is pretty darn good. A DL-32 would most likely give you all the channels you'd ever need. There are many, many other loggers as well. Something like a V-Box is very nice, very spendy too. Depending on how many channels you want to log and what type of logger you're interested in, you might be able to take that money and upgrade ECUs to get the best of both worlds.

Once you have the logger you'll need the individual modules. Guessing you already have an O2 system with 0-5V output? You'll need an EGT amp with one or two channels, and a knock amp. There are some fairly inexpensive EGT amps. The knock amp will be a little more expensive. Phormula has a great system. Basically, anything you want to log will need a 0-5V output. You can tap any sensor you already have that has this, like the MAP sensor and TPS. Honestly, not sure how it would work with existing coolant and air temp sensors as these have an internal pull-up in the ECU. Not sure how that would work with an external logger as I have never tried it.
