Data viewing software.

Does anyone use any software to view datalogs outside of the Haltech viewer?

I tried to make a graph in Excel but it sucked ass.

I working with someone on a datalog viewer that will allow AFR to be viewed in a Matrix style mode similar to that of Datalogit's map watch. It will take in the .CSV files directly. Its not quite ready for release though. I will post more when its available.

I have been using the piviot table function in excel to average afrs by load and rpm. Also using scatter plots for mapping fuel pressure drop. and if I can find an affordable way to record turbo charger shaft speed I will use Excel to compare that info to EGT and exhaust gas pressure too.

Excel is very powerful, it just takes a little patience.

Any news Fritts?

Excel will usually be pretty decent to get a good graph going, but you actually have to know it pretty well to make the best of it.

Changing mV to AFR in there on the CSV files is pretty easy, all you need is the particular controller's formula to obtain AFR from the RAW voltage and there you go.

Also, on that note, i have observed that there is an offset of the AFRs to RPM point, given the location of the sensor in relation to the combustion chamber, on average (E6X datalog) you will see the mixtures be about 2 or 3 rows down from the actual RPM point where they happened, so bare that in mind.

Otherwise, the new Datalog Viewer for the new Platinum ECU Manager software looks pretty damn good. :D

The author of the software has not released a new version of the log viewer. It also will only currently work with logs that are through a laptop. For some reason internal logs are different. I have yet to test the E6X logs either. But laptop E8 logs work great.

^Claudio that brings up the issue of whether or not we are going to be able to view E6x, E8 and E11 logs with the new software? So far it doesn't work.
