Bridgeport Turbo Guru's chime in, pls.

Anyhow have a few questions for the bridgeport Turbo GURU's especially if BDC would chime in here would help. This is a 13B FC secondary bridge I built with 720cc prim/1680cc sec. injectors managed by a Haltech ECU etc, etc, etc.

1. Whats the target idle speed for this type of setup, car now idles fine @ 1700rpm.

2. I just zeroed the timing with the Haltech which was a bitch to do because it called for an extremely retarded setting both @ the CAS and trigger angle (82deg) and would not idle initially at that setting. Is this what this setup requires?
Because of this slight malady I was forced to find TDC on the motor and initially decided this was the setting I was going to use, because this was the closest I could get to the -5deg mark which was sitting to the left of the pointer.

3. Is it supposed to kill plugs that often and I have not driven her yet? I know she is rich, carbon monoxide almost killed me in my garage, cough, cough eyes burning like hell (no real tuning done has been done yet).

Just wanted to get some info before I go start with some tuning. You guys want to hear this shyyttee. My neighbour heard it and has been complaining ever since ....downpipe only.

BDC doesn't come in here that often.
He likes to hang out more in NoPistons.COM or TeamFC3S.ORG.
Try those...

You can't really idle on stock ignition settings.
I would run them advanced a little.
I hope you're not trying to get the motor to idle under 1,000RPM...

I'm by no means a bridgeport tuning guru but I have tuned my own hb monster safely up to 15 psi. :)

With my setup I did not have to alter my low RPM advance too much from stock Hitman maps, just a couple degrees here and there. At first I got my idle steady at 1500 rpms, after switching on the zero throttle map I had success with a nice sweet 1200 rpm idle. The ZTM is key to a low smooth idle.

Mazpower said it right there. With a bridge or even half bridge, the manifold pressure is so varied and inconsitant that the engine will continue to try and hunt for the idle. The zero throttle map will cure this by telling the engine exactly where to idle, and fuel content, when at zero throttle. So it won't be dependent on the map sensor. But for a full bridge I still wouldn't expect an idle below 1500.

Just FYI , I run a half bridge and it idles fine at 1200rpm , on the normal fuel map setting ith or without the idle control solenoid / stepper motor connected.
