2-step for drag racing
 

what do you guys use as a switch?
I'm debating between just the clutch switch and the front wheel speed sensor.
Maybe both so I can power shift and keep boost.
Just wanted to see what the pros were using.

Is it as simple as wiring directly to either the switch or sensor?:scratch:
Adjusting the timing and fuel curve will be my tuners job, unless I can get help to do that too.. (I'm such a noob:lol:)

I've used the clutch switch on a couple cars and never had a problem with up shifting. In addition to the clutch switch I also installed an in-line toggle switch to arm the system. The reason we did that was so that you could free rev the engine with the clutch pedal in for burnouts. Once you've dumped the clutch and completed the burnout you can arm the system.

Do YOU cut the fuel or cut the ignition??

Its safer to cut the ignition, if you do fuel cut and an injector fails or is really extremley leaky, it can pop the engine. And ign cut make nice flaming backfires.

I've done alot of research on it, and it's an on going arguement, but I TOTALLY agree with what you're saying.
I'm only worried about fouling my plugs every run. (I use 11.5s)

I have mine wired to the clutch switch and the line lock. It will not work without both switches engaged. That way the 2 step only works right before the burnout and when you launch the car. I have yet to try it but that was the best i could come up with.

And no just hooking the 2 step arming wire to the speed sensor will not work. The wire from the ECM is grounded to activate it.

And IIRC the turbo will not spool as well if you just cut the fuel (or at all). That is the reason for a 2 step, to build boost before you ever leave the line:).

In my experience that is completley irrelevent.
