13bt and 13b-rew map difference?
I was looking at himan's site for a map for my 87 Turbo II. Is there a difference between 13bt maps and 13b-rew ones? Can I use a 13b-rew map on a 13bt?

ignition setup is different, so you would have to change some values.
|
Do you mean just the values on the timing map or is the ignition setup itself different? I dont really know the specific differences between the two engines. Just that the 13b-rew is built stronger....
Thanks, Ryan |
Just that the 13b-rew is built stronger.... the ignition setup on the second gen CAS and the third gen CAS is different. the values could be interchanged |
I thought the housings were thicker or mabe the compression was lower. Something like that...I havent really checked out the differences....anyways, thanks.

i once read that the casting around the dowl pins is thicker on the REW, also the sparkplugs are at diff locations changing the timming

It also has a different thrust bearing/plate setup over the older FC motor, has a different oiling system (gear bearings and pressure regulator), machined rotors vs. cast, and has thicker iron around the rear iron dowel pin. There are many more differences. |
I found this..
http://my.engr.ucdavis.edu/~pko/13BTvs13BREW.html So far I havent heard of any differences that would stop me from running an s6 base map on my 13bt other then the differences in the 13b-rew's igniton setup. From what I understand, I just have to go to the Igniton Setup page, change the values to match those of a stock 13bt with my timing method (hitman's) and it should work good enough to get me to the dyno...but first I need to get a Haltech TPS....
