I do. But am open the others. Especially if they offer a package price on a laser scan and print.

Let me make a call to one of the form vendors over on FocusST.org.

Would you mind PM'ing me some details of your current deal? Just want to offer them some details to compete. Who know maybe I can convince them to join over here too.

This kit is amazing looking! Really excited for this! You've been doing awesome work on this as I have read the thread from front to back. Hoping the production shroud you sent off for test fitment turns out good. Subbed for updates.

Matt

superdan50 04-20-15 09:40 AM

right now my test fitter has the shroud. if it fits, "the Help" hooked me up with a guy for laser scanning, 3d model/print should be done quick(ish).

Thomas618 04-23-15 10:45 PM

We already know I want a set.

David Hayes 04-24-15 02:09 PM

Time for a super update from SuperDan50. :)

RXdrive 05-01-15 04:34 PM

May update?

superdan50 05-02-15 07:38 PM

Things look good, going to do some finish work (make it pretty), and send it to the new cad guy for some 3d prints!

tbkonwso 05-09-15 09:21 PM

2 years and im still excited haha lol

trinibuoy1 05-10-15 08:02 AM

I hope you and your family are doing great Dan. Keep up the fantastic work. I'm eager to see it and I know this finished package will be perfect.

Thanks for the support guys! The shroud should be on its way back to me. Then just some finishing work, and off to the 3d scan!

That's a Knight Sport kit. That's been in available since... 1996?

This kit could be seen as an evolution of the KS kit - using a bit sleeker position of the lights and updated HID / driving lights. :icon_tup:

Mrmatt3465 05-24-15 04:21 PM

That's a knight sports headlight kit. Looks similar, however is not sleepy eye, and I don't believe it has projectors for HIDs.

Actually this sleepy pop-ups (the project in this thread) is to raise funds to do the other one. The other one started in 2009. This one's been going on since 2012 (really, before).

So according to the updates we've received and all the ETAs from Superdan - I would expect those to be ready in "about a month" right after he "fixes one more thing" and "gets them back from the test fitter" then "meets up with his CAD guy".

MattGold 06-25-15 08:31 PM

Hey Dan - it's going on two months since the shrouds were on the way back to you. What *is* the latest?

Monkman33 06-28-15 04:19 PM

I just decided to design my own setup. See you all in 18 months.

It should only take a month or less to design a kit its not that hard.

Yeah, but that's IF you are talented with fiberglass and manufacturing techniques... and IF you have a FD to test fit on... and IF you have the time to dedicate to this. All of which is a solid "no" for superdan.

I heard through the grapevine that HotWaterLabs is working on this exact same style of pop-up. I know if they release one, I'll be on it in a heartbeat.

We should start a e-mail campaign to HotWaterLabs to let them know we are interested! Maybe it'll speed up their production cycle a bit.

Here is their contact page:

I am gone for the military for a year, and the production method is going to require some tooling. Otherwise I would have said 6 months from design to production. (Since I am a bit OCD when it comes to making things right.
