Techno Toy Tuning FD Product Interest
Hello all, as some of you may know my FD has been at Techno Toy Tuning for a bit now having prototype parts fit up to it. I/we (T3) are interested to see what all people would be interested in having made. So far they're in the process of templating out:
-Full race interior panels (flat to fit with a roll cage) -Floor plates (think heel-up plate for stripped interior) -Toe links (which was funny, the parts were already on the shelf, just had to have a car to base length and stuff off of haha) Would there be enough interest for front upper and lower control arms? What else would YOU be interested in having made? Keeping in mind they aren't going to start making CF parts or anything like that. -Ben |
Also, here are some pictures of the Toe Links, Floor Plates/Pans, and some teaser shots of some interior panels ALMOST done
Toe Links https://technotoytuning.com/sites/de...s/fd3s-toe.jpg Floor Pans https://technotoytuning.com/sites/de...s/fdfloor1.jpg Installed -well, laying in there anyway, haven't been bolted down yet (excuse my chipped up paint, it'll be painted after all the prototype work is done :) ) https://technotoytuning.com/sites/de...s/fdfloor3.jpg Rear interior panel (again, excuse the mess!) http://i41.photobucket.com/albums/e2...s/IMAG0179.jpg The door cards, and complete rear interior panel kit should be done soon! They're working on integrating an actual interior door handle into the door panel, flush mount so it doesn't protrude like the stock door handle does. |
Nice products, kudos to T3 for developing parts for our FD's.
|
Upper and lower control arms please!
|
So nice! Look fwd to seeing more-
|
Upper and lower arms may be a possibility, I'll let you guys know!
I'll also get some pics of the drivers side floor pan / plate installed since I'm SURE that's what most people are interested in as opposed to the passenger side ;) Anything else? |
I already ordered the floor pans. Hopefully it's not too long of a wait for them!

I spoke with them yesterday. Currently 10 days out with a few changes already to the design for more coverage and added strength. I also mentioned a spare tire cover for those of us with no interior and they were very interested in making those as well!

I'm excited to see how these turn out. An option to run speakers would be nice.

I have a LOT of T3 parts on my 85 corolla. They make some quality parts, and I have the door cards with billet handles for my AE86. They are awesome! I love em, and every other corolla guy I know wants them now. Props to T3 for adding the FD to the list of cars they are making parts for!
|
Hoping you'll post pics of the rest of the interior rear full race panels installed soon!
Awesome products... |
any updates on this?
|
I ordered on June 2nd and they still have not shipped.
|

I finally recieved the floor pans and installed them. Since I have a roll cage, I had to make cutouts in order for them to fit.
I'm not too impressed with the fitment of the pans, to be quite honest. The cuts to run along the transmission tunnel don't line up too well and the outter portion doesn't quite fit flush. The hole shown in the OP towards the rear of the pans was not drilled and I had to improvise. After cutting the slots for the front cage tubes with plenty of clearance, I was still forced to wedge the pans in to position and use extra fasteners to make it a solid fit. These are far from perfect and aren't worth the money (and the wait). |

As to everyone else, they're EXTREMELY busy right now - I've sent your questions to them and linked the thread and they should be back to y'all soon. Sorry for the wait (its not typical of them, at all) -Ben |
The car has not been in any accidents.
After cutting the panels, I doubt they would want to do anything. But, I will reach out anyway. My real frustration is the fact that I was told 10 days to wait for shipment and it took over a month. |

Your panels have been cut, but I wouldn't put it past them to make this right. When they were a super small company basically working out of a garage they had a bad batch (like 50) of heim joint rod ends go out with products, they weren't strong enough for the application. They replaced EVERYONE's rod ends even if the customer never emailed them about it for free, they just looked up who all bought them from that time period and sent them new stuff. They took a hit money-wise, but it was worth it to have satisfied customers. The shipping thing sucks for sure, I'm pretty sure part of that was making some minor CAD modifications from the originals that were in my car. They had some rattles and whatnot, just had to make sure they wouldn't be SUPER annoying tapping against the transmission tunnel. Hope this provides some clarity for your situation, I'd still hit them up through if you're unhappy. |
Well. They definitely touch on all sides. I'll call today.
|
T3 are making some nice looking gear aye! I love seeing their new products. Would love to see more things for RX's. Although I only have an FB :P
|
I love T3! They were really helpful with my 71 240z build and I would love to see as many products as possible for the FD! Strut tower braces?
|
Any chance T3 would wanna make a license plate relocation kit? One that offsets the plate to one side or the other (similar to what Kenjo has for the miata). Probably the side with out the oil cooler for the non-R1 models.
