Exclamation Bolt-in replacement manual rack developed. Only 10 available

I have been working with a chassis shop for the past 3 months on this project, and it turned out really awesome.

We are using a ultra high quality Flaming River rack, which i then disassemble and have the inner tie rods machined down to fit the RX7 outer tie rods. The mounts bolt up perfectly in the stock location, and their is a custom u-joint made to adapt directly to the RX7 steering shaft. It's really an awesome piece. It is however a lot of work, and the rack is really costly so I don't know if I am going to do anymore after these first 10 are sold.

Here is the link to the deposit, I am not taking full payment yet as I don't want to hold anyones money while the machine work is in process. That said, the machine work on all the inner tie rods should be done in roughly 2-3 weeks. Hoping to ship these out mid-late October.

Good looking product!

What is the ratio?

I poked around on the page where you are taking deposits and your FB page and did not see any mention of this...

Its 3.75 turns lock to lock. The actual ratio would change depending on the size of your steering wheel

Ummm. No.

Number of turns is the number of turns.

Steering wheel diameter only changes the amount of leverage the driver has.

Are you sure you don't mean 2.6?

FD rack is 2.9 lock to lock, with manual upgrades typically less.

Ok, so I talked with Flaming River this morning about the ratios available.

I can offer these racks in two different ratios. A drag application 20:1 ratio, and a 14:1 road race/autocross ratio. These racks actually have more travel than stock so you will get a tighter turning radius vs the stock rack.

I am guessing most of you RX7 guys will want the 14:1 ratio, so I think i will just off the drag ratio as a special order item.

Some pics I added this morning:

The mount kit. This is unique, because it allows you to clock the angle of the steering shaft to gain clearance, this might be helpful to the engine swap guys to gain a little header clearance, etc. This style clamp setup is used on pro drag cars so it is extremely strong.
