Motor Trend Import CotY Sticker Interest
 

As the title suggests, seeing if there is any interest out there for a high quality reproduction of the '93 Motor Trend Import Car of the Year sticker for the front windshield.

There have been GB's for this in the past but I have had no luck getting response from those that made them so I decided to make them myself.

Shooting to get them made in a few weeks but just wanted to see if anybody else was in need of one since they seem to become faded or dry rot from the sun.

No price yet but shouldn't be that expensive and may be cheaper if there is enough interest.

Will post pics during design and printing process.

I am surprised to see this much interest in this but I am very pleased! I have been out of town for work since a few days after I started the thread but have still been working on the details of the sticker.

The only thing that is in question with the sticker is the back. I have been trying to source an original picture from the backside or interior shot of the sticker. My original sticker on my car from what I remember was transparent to where you could make out the sticker from the back as well. Can anyone confirm this or supply me with a good reverse pic?

There will be even more interest once they're actually made. Trust me.

I'd be in for one or possibly two. I will see about getting some reference shots for you in the next couple of days. I do believe the original decal is somewhat translucent.

I would buy one or two as well.

Quick Update...

I am getting some sample stickers hopefully this weekend so I should have some examples to share some pics of either this weekend or the start of next week. Still no estimate on price but a friend is helping me work out some cost effective options without sacrificing the quality so maybe there will be some light shed on that as well.

Finally got some sample pics for you guys!

So we applied them to a glass to get the effect which may or may not be the best way to try them out. They look great in person and the size is spot on. What I need is a majority opinion. We did three different stickers.

1.) Clear or transparent with some gold coloring
2.) Gold with some metal flake in the vinyl with gold back
3.) Gold and black printed on a white back ground

In my honest opinion, the gold back (option 2) looks the best. On the glass, as what you'd see from outside the car, looks awesome. It is actually a bit transparent as well and would be great on a sunny day. The transparent one is almost too clear and shows the print but you have to be up close to make it out clear. The white back ground looks good but the white stands out from the backside and I just don't like the white back.

Give me some feedback after you look at the pics.
