Can this be used with 99 Spec Bumper and the shine auto project under tray?

99 Spec bumper is no problem, I've already mounted up to one here :) The shine auto undertray will impede the mounting of our panel however, is the uprights/gibs would need to go up through it.

Nice piece. Any chance you can make one to fit with the Sine Burnout bumper? It's a very popular bumper so I'd imagine you would have a few buyers.

Compatible with 99 spec and newer Greddy V mount?

Would this fit an LS swapped RX, using the samberg subframe?

We have a V-mount version, however it was designed around a one-off fabricated Vmount setup, so I do not know if it'll fit the GReddy kit. Car has a 99 spec bumper + lip, an it mounted to that without issue.

Did some research, it'll fit along the sides & front, but where it meets the Samberg frame, it won't have any mounting points.

Just installed mine on my car the other day. It's a great looking piece! 100x better than the stock piece

May seem like a silly question, but has it been compared to stock like in any tests for cooling? Is it as effective? The stock tray has lots of little vents that direct air up into the radiator. Is that the purpose of the piece at the back of the tray that is bolted on? Just curious about actual temps and how it directs the airflow.

Opps dropped the ball on that one.

We have not done any testing except for on our Miata undertray, and we noticed it stayed as cool temperature wise as with the stock panel (we were viewing water temp sensor numbers live, for around a 20 minute driving interval on each panel, using a laptop to access the megasquirt)

That flap is to push air up into the radiator, which was something we learned on the miata as well. Like with the FD, there was a large gap between bottom of rad & top of my undertray, and enough air snuck past the rad below it, that we actually noticed about a 10 degree RISE if I ran the LRB miata panel without the flap!

Looking at my OEM FD tray I have here (granted, it's WELL destroyed) I'm seeing that all the vents actually pull air OUT. I remember *hearing* about an in depth thread on rx8club, where a case study was conducted as to if the vents being absent on the aluminum pan help or hurt, and the result there was that they didn't make a difference, IF I'm recalling this correctly. So I've always just left them out.

this may be obvious but i dont have an r1 lip to look at right now, but does this have any mounting problems with the r1 lip on the oem bumper? thanks

Bumping this thread. Thinking about purchasing tbis for my fd. My car has a rotarty extreme v mount with 93 front bumper and i wonder if this will work. Also does anyone with vmount use this undertray.

Pretty sure Ben started including this tray as an option with his kits, but his thread would be a more appropriate place to check/ask. It should already be covered if you go back a few pages on his thread.

What page is that on this thread is only one page long and i read the whole thing? When i bought this kit through Ben he was under a lot of stress and did not offer it to me. I am hoping someone in this community with this set up chimes in or even lbr themselves. At worst they are out of Clearwater, Fl which is about 1 and a half hour away from me.

I think Daniel was talking about the Rotary Extreme V-Mount thread, not this one.

I just got notification that my LRB Speed V-mount undertray is on its way out to me in California. Hopefully, I'll have it on by next weekend and can offer some feedback on it then! (I have a Greddy V-mount though, not the RE one). I have some of their other products and they all seem to work quite well. Stay tuned, I'll come back after it's installed.

I have the vmount under trey. Looks and works great. I can't say if it helped with cooling since I never had cooling issues. I think I have some pics. If you want to see install pics I'll try to find them.

Good to hear. I live in Fl and although i have no overheating problems i would like to see the fit on a 93 oem front bumper witb r1 lip. I would also like to know if it gives the front end of the car any added down force. Just doing my homework so that i can make a decision on wether or not to pull the trigger on this. Right now my car has no undertray at all.😣😣😣😣

So, sorry for slacking, but I finally got around to installing the LRB undertray a couple weeks ago.
Here's a picture of it.

Install was relatively straightforward. It did require a bit of tugging, mostly at the front bumper, in order to get it to fit, but it bolted up reasonably well. This may have been due to car-to-car variation rather than anything else.
One problem that I had (and this is likely isolated to the Greddy V-mount) is that the bolt that holds the radiator bracket is a bit long and extended lower than the tray would allow. I solved this by notching the tray a little bit on each corner as you can see, but, looking back, I probably should have just cut a little off the bolt because it hurt me to cut the nice aluminum piece. Oh, wear decent gloves if you can while you're installing - the aluminum edges may be a bit sharp and could conceivably cut your fingers with enough force on a bad day.

Cooling with the undertray seems fine. I don't notice a difference in engine temps on my Power FC - it pretty much always hovers around 83C with the V-mount. I am comparing this with having no undertray at all and, looking at the giant holes, it probably flows enough air to pretty much be the same as no undertray at all for cooling purposes.

As far as aero goes... I dunno. Not sure how to test for that.

Not sure about either.
There's probably a lot of other areas that you can look at for saving weight rather than the plastic undertray; I'm sure the weight difference/savings is negligible. Probably on the same order of weight savings as you skipping lunch.

It will also say that I doubt that it adds significant rigidity to the front end.

Remember this was designed as an alternative undertray and that its primary purpose is protection. Secondary purpose, for the V-mount version, would be airflow.

Hmm. I would think the weight ahould be close since it is aluminuim and that it would add a little rigidity to the front since it is aluminium. It has to have more advantages than that plastic oem. Like to see if any members have info ro back my thoughs
