GB#3: FD Bi-xenon HID Projector's for pop-ups - SakeBomb Garage
Based on overwhelming praise from current owners, and the mass of PM's and emails that we receive daily asking to purchase a set, we are running one last GB on our now infamous FD HID lights. While they have been extremely popular, our time has been dedicated to headlights for the last 6 months, and with an unbelievable amount of new products currently in the works, we are trying to free up some needed time to get to these other projects.
So... while this may not be the absolute LAST GB we run on the lights, it will definitely be the last for a long while, so we can finally get to some even more exciting parts. With that said... it's full steam ahead for the FD HID GB#3 We all know that the stock headlights on the Rx-7 are vastly inadequate for night driving. With the FD being very capable of high speeds, the possibility of missing something on the side of the road, up ahead, or around a corner is dangerous scenario. We finally decided to fix this problem once and for all. SakeBomb Garage is pleased to knock your socks off with the first and only true 'pop-up' Bi-Xenon Projector HID kit for the FD. FD owners: Welcome to the 21st Century. <embed type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" src="http://w723.photobucket.com/pbwidget.swf?pbwurl=http://w723.photobucket.com/albums/ww233/SBGarage/HID%20product%20shots/c0c0afe5.pbw" width="480" height="360"> Highlights:
We’re confident that this is currently the best performing lighting kit available for the FD, from here to Japan… bar none! This setup is the standard against which other lights are currently judged. Yes, they're that good. :D The SakeBomb Garage Projector HID kit is plug and play. Simply pop out your own lights, trim the headlight bucket, insert the new lights, and connect the harness. http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/w...ots/FDHID1.jpg As you can clearly see (no pun intended :) ), these are not your cheap h4 conversion kit lights. Not only are the raw components expensive to start, there is an unbelievable amount of work which goes into creating each kit. We’re confident however that once you install these lights in your car you will quickly realize why you could NEVER go back to anything else! This kit, while retaining the stock appearance, brings the FD up to the lighting standards of high end cars from this decade. Video in action:<object width="640" height="385"> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JuEpB..._US&fs=1?rel=0 Newly released for this GB: Optional 50W Ballasts http://i723.photobucket.com/albums/w.../IMG_96411.jpg We are now offering the option of a 50w ballast (and accompanying 5000k bulb) instead of the OEM-spec 35w ballasts. There are pros and cons to using 50w ballasts, but we'll do our best to explain the differences below. Xenon bulbs are manufactured to run at 35 watts, however they can be over-driven to produce more light than would normally be available at a lower wattage. Typically one will find an additional 30% increase in total light, however this extra light does come at a cost. The additional wattage does reduce the lifespan of the bulbs somewhat. The color range of the bulbs is shifted LOWER (more yellow) with increased wattage (however the color temp can be shifted back up to normal (around 4300k) by using "5000K bulbs"), which is why we will supply this kit with 5000 Kelvin bulbs. - At the end of the day, yes, the total light output is increased, but it does not change the beam pattern with which it is distributed, so you simply end up with a BRIGHTER light, not wider or longer throw. Is this a good thing? Sometimes yes, sometimes no. In the city where streets are well lit, the extra light from the 50w ballasts is definitely welcome, but on very dimly lit back-roads the contrast difference between foreground and background could feel overwhelming to some, and reflector signs will appear very reflective. It is a personal choice whether this increased light output is right for you, but if in doubt remember that the OEM standard is 35w. |
How much you gents asking, and how many people are needed for this GB?

Other HID “kits” use the stock headlight housing in conjunction with a Xenon bulb. The plus side, they are unbelievably cheap. The negative side? Typically these setups:
Projector HID's on the other hand are what is used in every OEM HID lighting setup. Our Projectors:

But don’t take our word for it… here’s what current owners have said: __________________________________________________ __________________ Quote: Originally Posted by RENESISFD After seeing these lights in person on scrubs and goodfellas car on the way down to Deals Gap I am absolutely sold on these lights. But the stock lights were dismal. Its been a long time since I drove any car with such bad lights, let alone such a potent sports car. When I saw these, I thought it was a no-brainer. Went for it immediately. The product is top-notch. The ballasts are really solid looking and very small in size. Everything was perfect. When I installed them and lit them up, the difference was AGAIN night and day from the HID kits I had installed before. Even though the HID kits produced a lot of light, but these kits made the visibility so much better: so much more usable light, not light everywhere! And there were high beams too! And the customer service and all around behavior of Dan and the team are just fantastic, which alone is enough to buy from them. Thanks guys for making such a wonderful product. I planned on getting flush mount headlights when I first got the car but as time passed I began to love how the car looks with the pop ups down more than anything. I was still considered getting flush mounts just due to how terrible the factory light output was. After reading about how some of the flush mounts were as bad or even worse at safely illuminating the road I was back at square one. Because of the price of many options and I also wanted something that I thought looked good as well it seemed finding the correct option for me was going to be difficult. Once I saw the original post about the set they built initially I fell in love with these. It was exactly what I wanted and I luckily was able to squeeze in for a set. These guy's are extremely professional and produce quality products. If you miss out on these you'll kick yourself in the ass later. It's unfortunate that are only available through a group buy since they are such a great safety improvement. Thanks for all the hard work and time you guy's put into providing us with these. She also doesn't mind spending money when it's worth it and when she went out for a drive at night with me she even thought it was money well spent. I've only owned my FD for maybe 3 years and been driving it for 1 but one of my biggest let downs, which may actually be the only one, was the piss poor lighting. If you put things in perspective these lights are a great price and if you can afford them you should most definitely get them while you can. From a customers perspective what Heath said is not a sales pitch but the god honest truth. I personally feel the GB price is extremely fair. Look at the prices of most other options out there, then compare their functionality to these. I bet you find these are one of the best deals out there. I got these purely for the lighting upgrade and was happy that I got to keep the pop ups. If you haven't seen them in person try and find someone that has them so you can see them in person I guarantee any question you have will be answered and you'll be ready to get your set. __________________________________________________ __________________ Lastly, so I don’t forget… here is a link to the installation instructions. -> Click Me https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1310789011 fresh install from across the pond in Australia (RHD) |

I'm not sure... we've started in on the first 15 and are building in batches of 15. That should take under a month to complete (hopefully less). The main issue is sourcing the housings. We're working to get more but the supplies are VERY limited on them, and we've been more than lucky to source the 30 that we could. We will definitely have enough to build 30 sets... but after that I can't make any guarantees. Payments need to be made up front so that we can order the rest of the components needed.... (if money is tight we will accept a 1/2 deposit, with the remainder due on completion of the lights). |
I bought another set already, could you please remove me from the waiting list?
Thx |
So do I have to be on the list? Or can I just send payment?
