I like the option on the spg or pole position personally. At least you know the seats will be a better quality. The rails is the missing link here for me.

 

The rails we can handle, that's no problem. Recaro has closed quite a few direct accounts recently in the US and sourcing them is actually getting to be more difficult. I'll see what we can do as far as setting up something with them... we have a fair amount of pull but I can't make any promises at the moment. We'll do our best though.

If everyone can make a list of seats they are interested in and what material choices that would help us get an idea of volume.

Is that confirmation the RZ/Spirit R reps are dead in the water?

 

Does anyone know the dimensions of the FD recaro's? I could imagine a lot of people would be interested in the largest possible seat (most comfortable) that will fit.

From research it appears a seat under 508mm at the tunnel and under 558mm wings will fit.

 

Those pole positions look almost like the factory recaro's.
What's the details on those puppies? Lighter? Real carbon Fibre?

Even something like this Race Tech would be appealing to people who want a street seat and not a FIA bucket. Similar mounting dimensions compared to the pole position however more seating room.

Hey you guys, well it seems like there's definitely interest here so I'll start making progress on this. Just to get organized, before opening a new group buy page, let's get a numbered list going. I'll do my best to get this rolling and not kick the can down the road. Ultimately this is a better, and safer option than replica RZ Recaros as these are crash tested. This was one of the hangups I had with this project was the safety aspect and why I shut it down once the samples came in... I won't in good conscience put something I feel even the slightest bit iffy about on someones car.

To replicate the functionality of the stock RZ Recaros should be relatively easy for us design and manufacturing wise, and we have a few ideas on the table currently. It's all based on demand though since we have some many projects going on concurrently. So lets get this in an ordered list and move this thing to the next level!
