Boom! Problem solved:

Amazon.com: Black RECARO Racing Car Seat Logo Jacket Patch Sew Iron on Embroidered Symbol Badge Cloth Sign bY PRINYA SHOP: Everything Else Amazon.com: Black RECARO Racing Car Seat Logo Jacket Patch Sew Iron on Embroidered Symbol Badge Cloth Sign bY PRINYA SHOP: Everything Else

Just kidding. Guess I vote no logo. I'll get something embroidered myself if it's too plain.

Not currently but we can make them here quite easily. We'll also offer replacement covers and hopefully replacement side bolsters as well since that's the part that wears out the fastest.

My vote is for no stitching on the cover. You won't be able to please everyone.

At least they covers are easily enough removed that someone could get an upholstery shop to stitch whatever they want on it.

I tried to get some covers from Angry Panda awhile ago. I'm currently waiting for a local guy to finish a cover for my RZ seats. Either case, I would be interested in a cover if this thing goes.

What kind of composite will you use? I would prefer if it was as similar to the original type (Karbon/kevlar) look as possible. Looking at the Angry Panda web page the color is to far off for my taste, and i would have to get a genuine set.

^The seats are full carbon fiber construction with carbon kevlar backing for added strength and weight savings vs the original seats. The recaros are fiberglass inside with a layer of carbon kevlar for looks on the back. We've also worked with APF to make sure the seat mounts are metal flanged and embedded between the composite layers as opposed to recaros threaded inserts which simply can rip out during an impact or as force is added to the seats. For these mounts to fail the entire surface area of the footprint of the mounting flange has to be ripped out from the center of the composite layup. They're very well reinforced and we'll describe more later as we get into talking about the specific design aspects and considerations. The shells are in every way superior to the Recaro versions.

Shipping to Canada would be more than shipping within the US. The seats are coming into the US by sea freight and will be re-packed safely and shipped from here to customers.

Well, thats jsut awesome! But it does not help my in my struggle on OEM vs reproduction Will you be able to offer some degree of customomer customization? As i personally want a set that is the same yellow color that the OEMs have, while others above seem to prefer the darker color back.

But first of all , as long as the Main priority is to have replica available in America ,
+ I think SBG is doing a pretty awsome job at increasing the security as they stated above.

Which I choose first before being picky about colours

Thanks for the update SBG! It's great to see everyone is attempting to make this possible.
I'm not particularly picky about what colour the back's employ. If they're built in a superior way compared to the originals, I'm all for it.

You're aware that the weave pattern (unless I'm remembering correctly) changed for the earlier (black) RZ seats vs the later 2001 pearl white RZ red seats (and the spirit r)? Also the color of the resin on the older seats is much more yellow than the newer ones as there is no UV inhibiting coating on the resin which causes it to change color over time.

As for having a customizable "color" for the back of the seats, APF is doing their best to match the look of the originals. If 100 point originality is what you're after I suggest you look for a pair of used ones. If you guys know me, I'm a stickler for trying to match OEM parts. We successfully reproduced the surface finish of the textured 94/95 plastics and smooth finish of the 93 on our cast aluminum passenger door handles, and I went through 30 different finish samples to match the aluminum RHD RZ footrest from Japan for our LHD version... but there's only so much we can do.

Just to reiterate... we (along with APF) are not working to provide KNOCKOFF Recaro seats. The seat design itself is very nice but we are attempting to resolve quite a few issues with the original Recaro design from materials used (carbon fiber inners vs fiberglass), seat flex (very much reduced with the new materials and layup schedule for this generation of seats), safety (large surface area mounting flanges embedded in between layers of CF vs small threaded inserts in fiberglass), etc. These are not Recaro seats, they're being reworked, and we very much intend for them to have identifying characteristics. Otherwise we'd just sell a bunch of "barely used red 'Recaro' seats" for $5,500 a pair

All the upgrading sounds nice, but I just want a set of rails that will fit OEM seats.

Will the seat covers be fireproof like OEM seats? Lost my rented garage to a set of seats that caught fire from an ember (not my car or seats). Might be something to check if you havent looked into it already

I can't say if the recaro fabric is fire retardant or not (it's definitely not fire PROOF) however nothing in the interior is fire retardant, so it's kinda a moot point unless you're butt is really that hot after a long drive

OEM seats will not catch fire if you drop say a sigarette glow on them, it just melts the fabric/foam. I think you all have seen seats with those kind of holes in them

Some cheap aftermarket seats will catch fire in seconds due to cheap foam and fabric. When i lost my garage, a glow in the seat caused the car to be in flames in 30 seconds. That would never happen with oem seats since fire retardants is required

My point was just that since you focus on improvement and safety, fire safety is also important (to me at least).

zepticon say are pretty true, one of my friend drop a cigarette glow on my seat it would just make a hole and it wouldn't even catch on fire and flame up at all
I have test with other material with a cigarette drop on it and it will burn up in flame and catch on fire

A sigarette glow is the least of my problems since i am not smoking. But say if you roll your car and the interior start to burn. from gasoline, or some spark from the crash, the carbon/kevlar seats will in fact protect you from the flames, but only if the seat itself wont catch fire. If the seat covers are made in cheap flamable foam, it will pretty fast cook you where you sit, if your frame is damaged and doors wont open.

Will be shitty to survive a roll because your seat is in high quality, but then burn to death because the seat fabric was cheap and flammable. This is part of the reason why Alcantara are popular in high end cars.

Alcantara (material) - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Some versions are designated as flame retardant in order to meet certain fire standards for both furnishings and automobile applications.
...
Alcantara is being used currently as a flame retardant driver seat covering material for Formula One race cars, including the Williams Formula One 2011 FW33 car.
In any case, i thought it was worth mentioning, since SBG is looking at creating a better seat than what Recaro did. I will probably get a custom set of covers made in Alcantara if this is not an option from SBG, if i decide to get the repro, and not the OEM versions.
