HPP FRONT UCA

Adjustable Camber/Castor/Roll Center
Spherical high misalignment bearing
Custom Ball joint stud fits stock hub with extra length for roll center adjustment
Offset spacers for bigger wheel fitment
Tubing is DOM

We designed and fabricated this UCA for our dedicated autoX car because there was nothing available with the adjustability we wanted and that would fit big big wheels (we use 18x11x7.5 fronts).
The assembly jig is completed and we will have pics of the first unit soon.
Current price estimate is $650/pair with quotes pending for 20 unit minimum.

Let us know what you think and if you are interested.

How much inner clearance can these provide? I know you are running at 18x11.75. What offset are you running? I would like to have the same fender clearance as a 18x10 +52 but run an 18x11. That would require an 18x11 +65. Will I experience problems at full lock? Will this clear the suspension?

Thanks,

Andrew

Andrew....Our wheels are 18x11 with 7.5" back space with 315/30 Hoosier A6 tires. This wheel/tire combo uses all the full lock clearance available and requires the custom front upper control arm for wheel clearance at the top.
We also use stock fenders with the lips flattened and opened up a bit with an English wheel ( street rod shops usually have this capability).
Holler if you have more questions.

1. A 18x11 with a 7.5 in backspace (18x11 +38) has the same inner clearance as a 18x10 +52. I would assume that the need for the UCA is due to tire buldge created by fitting at 315/30 on an 11 inch wheel as a 285/30 on a 10 inch wheel does not need a UCA to clear. Correct?

2. I wonder if I can fit a 295/30 on a 10.5 inch wheel with the same fender clearance as a 18x10+52. This would require fitting an 18x10.5 +58 in wheel which sounds highly unlikely. Is this fitment a possibility or pie in the sky?

3. What are you running for a rear wheel size and offset and tire combo? What modifications did you do for rear inner clearance? Rubbing issues?

Thanks,

Andrew

1. You are correct
2. An 18x10.5x7.5" bs with 295/30 might work.....will be close with a stock fender but my guess is the lip will require a little work but near as much as our 18x11x7.5.....1/2" diff in front space. Also, we run -3.5 degrees front camber which tucks the tire in at the top.
3. Our rears are 18x12x7.5 with 335/30 A6's and -2.25 degrees camber.

Hope this helps

Since it is always nice to put faces with the the names, here's a pic of me (Jim T,old guy on left) and Carter at the SCCA Nationals last September right after Carter won the SSM Championship in our little '93.

The answer is yes. We were hoping that the interest level would be a bit higher by now. Really need a minimum of 10 to get started.....the list is at 7 currently.
We have built the jig and plan to make the first set off the jig and check fitment in the next two weeks.

I would be interested if the price were a bit lower. I only recently went back to work.

Pricing is not set yet....depends on interest level and what we find when we build the first units off the new jig next week.

Yes we would like to have 10. Plan is to start building units in October.

BLUE TII 08-29-13 12:46 PM

Would you consider making a camber adjusting LOWER FRONT ARM?

Reason-
SCCA Street Prepared allows incidental roll center change with camber kits/camber correcting lower arms.

You kill four birds with one stone, more camber, caster, roll center correction, replaceable ball joint.

Street Prepared version would have to have bushing carriers instead of spherical bearings like the Super Street Mod version at the chassis/suspension pick up points.

Of course this could be used in SSM as well along with the adjustable upper arm.

----

Related to rim width/ tire width discussion in this thread.

Currently I am using rolled front fenders, stock suspension arms, coilovers and a 1/2" shortened Tripoint sway bar and 18x11 +45 front/rear with 295/30-18 Z221 and R888.

Online sites say 11 width with +45 offset is 7.77" backspace, but exact backspace would depend on rim outer lip thickness. The 11" Forgestar F14 is exactly 12" wide edge to edge. I will check BS and report back.

Rim is RIGHT at the rear of the lower arm at full lock and coilover collar at full lock the other way. Tire bulge from wider tire would become the rub point with any more tire section width.

Will the ball joints be Easily available? Think I might have to get some If so. Lowers be sweet as cant find cost effect replacements
