FD3S Rear "Euro" Washer/Fluid Tank
#551
At this point i consider buying one in case i get a 2nd FD x) Having a euro spec, i found that all the washer things are located in the trunk, and thus if i swap out the tank i have nothing. On the other hand, i got free space where the US tank is.
I guess thats something i should have researched before putting my name on the list.

A few thoughts.
1) The US washer tanks are still available new from Ray and are pretty cheap.
2) I bet you could install one and wire it up so all three systems draw from the same pump. It would just require a couple Ts in the hose.
3) I rarely drive in inclimate weather. So life without sprayers period is something I could live with. I personally don’t remember the last time I used them.
Ok. That’s it.

I'd probably trust Howard Coleman to step in with a much more in-depth answer - but my (biased) opinion is; you still get all the benefits of cooling the air intake, you still get all the benefits of keeping internal clean (no carbon build up) and you still have a safety net against detonation. Sure, the power you might be able to make from the octane boost might not be as dramatic compared to a turbo car, but that's not news to anyone. Also, it's not a very complicated system - it's all really self-contained - especially if you go with the AEM unit.
Believe it or not, a lot of V8 LS guys run meth injection for all the same reasons, including more aggressive timing.
Do some research. I'm sure you'll figure it out.

We're working out the bugs on this shipping calculator. Having been behind the scenes in e-commerce development for years, I know dialing in shipping is way trickier then you may imagine. Sit tight. PMs are a good route right now.
This seems to be just a gaff. The tank IS available on it's own, I believe SBG is actively trying to add AEM Meth kits as an option. Sit tight.
Nothing you're doing. Please stand by.

Yeah... $35 for shipping to Arizona seems a bit steep. I order a lot of stuff online and for a small tank that seems high for shipping within the 48 states. Will these prices be adjusted and refunded after you get the bugs figured out?

This thing is almost three feet long. Well, the box itself is actually 36x12x12 - which happens to be the maximum size that USPS will ship with their non-express services. Trust me, figuring things out doesn’t end at the product.
At the end of the day, what are you disappointed with? Spending $10 more on shipping then you were expecting? Not to set a president, but if that’s what’s holding you back... I’ll personally buy you a McDonalds value meal - supersized and everything - the next time we’re at the same RX-7 event.
Cheers.

How do you define “small”?

I can attest, Matt worked very hard with us to reduce shipping cost on this initial group buy to a flat rate shipping. No matter what the cost of shipping, if it’s not free you’ll get colplaints as a business. Amazon set the precedent / expectation for free shipping, but it’s not really “free”.
We can also do “free shipping” , the tank cost for the group buy would be $360 with free shipping. Add the numbers up, it’s the same, but one makes you feel like you got a “deal”. It’s just psychological sales tactics, believe me amazon isn’t giving you anything for free, they’re just baking it into the cost you’re paying for the item . We don’t bother with silly sales tactics for RX7 parts, you guys are smarter than that... you’re not Honda customers

They must not get the huge discount my company does. I’m always amazed how little it costs when I need to ship something. I’m sure that’s probably why amazon can provide the shipping costs that they do.

Not to disagree with you, but when I ship things through the large aerospace company I work for, it costs almost nothing for fedex next day.

Its much more cost effective for FedEx to pull up in a fleet of Semis and load up than to show up in a van and grab a few boxes.
Then that just goes down the line. Big aerospace company gets a better deal than little RX7 shop.
Now then... how about you hook us up with your FedEx account number and we can see how good these rates really are!

Totally. Amazon, Target, Walmart and other huge players get to play by a different set of rules... and I get it.

Anyways, I dont know why all the butt hurt for asking a simple question. Like I said, I ordered it already. If my question was out of line and you don't want my business, you can totally cancel my order and I will not be hurt.

Exactly. I wish I could use that account for personal shipping myself!

If that's how I've come across in any of my posts - I apologize - not my intent. We NEED the support of the community to make projects like this happen.

OK GUYS!
We're at ONE WEEK LEFT on pre-order pricing on these tanks. If you've been waiting until the last minute - HERE WE ARE!
Just to reiterate, tanks are available for pre-order on the SakeBomb Garage Website:
Trunk-Mount Water Injection Tank - SakeBomb Garage LLC
They are $325 + $35 Flat Rate shipping in the US ($60 in Canada, $70 for the rest of the world).
The first prototypes should be coming out of the molds in the next couple weeks and we'll be taking glamor shots, doing install videos and trying to get them out to a few installers for review, impressions, feedback, etc. But by that time, pre-order pricing will be OVER! If you think you're gonna want one, ORDER IT. It'll never be cheaper.
We currently have about HALF of the Interest List that has ordered. THANK YOU for that.
To everyone else, thank you for your support! But we need you now more than ever.
