The finish will look similar to the parts we currently sell, in other words, OEM. We use the printer to get the fitment correct before using the design to create a mold.

I could try and do something for the center vent of the FD. The directional control of the vent would be gone but it wouldn't be hard to make it so it still vents instead of completely covering it.

If you're in this to make money, I really think you're going to make a lot more producing high quality OEM plastic replacement pieces. In the long run, some people will buy a specific gauge mounting solution, and many will go with others - everybody has different taste.
However, EVERYBODY will fall victim to old, shitty, degrading plastics.

We have gone a little off-topic, but I enjoy seeing what people want.
Making money isn't a bad thing, but the main goal is to fill the plastics gap in the market. There are many options for smaller, aftermarket parts, but it seems there is an absence of OEM quality replacement parts - which clearly the community desires. We want to work up to making the larger parts and earn the trust of the community before committing to such a task. If the byproduct of our endeavor is a lucrative business, it just means we're doing something right.

That's a good question - I'm not sure. We don't have access to many RHD drive pieces, but it appears they are essentially the same but mirrored imaged, which would be easy to do. It might be something we look into if the demand is there.

I got a chance to test fit the piece yesterday. I think it's close and just needs some tweaks.
To start, here's the original piece

Here's the initial fit. The shape of the piece is very good and follows the outline and shape of the factory switch. The blank unfortunately just doesn't fit far enough in to be flush with the console trim.

There are a couple of tweaks that I think could help. I think the angle of the screw mount tabs is a bit off not allowing it to fit flush. Also I showed the factory piece that has a recess to fit the post from the trim into and align them together. Incorporating a design like that would help a lot. Also the screw holes need to be a tiny bit bigger as the screws out some small cracks in the piece when going thru it.
