*Interest only* Arrowhead lighting diffused tails v1.0
1 Attachment(s)
I have decided to tackle the famous diffused ring taillight. I have worked long and hard to build these from ground up as previous versions were not up to my standards. For running lights I used a slightly different version of smd rings to remove the need of reflectors. This results in a slightly brighter running light from David Hayes DIY. Next I used Philips leds for the brake lights. These leds are used in many OEM vehicles so brightness is no problem!
I hand solder these tailights so please don't expect a very cheap price as it takes a very long time to make. This is all I am going to mention for price as this is an interest only thread. I will become a vendor and announce the official price when everything is ready. Now lets get to the good stuff. I have brake and running lights already made the turn signals are in progress. I am also working on the center tails but they will not be put into production until a later time. Running lights vs. Oem subaru tails Attachment 630362 Brake and running function |

Awesome news. Many have asked for this design with high quality light output and OEM components.
Look forward to seeing (pun intended) where you go with this. |
Officially interested.

Your tails will have to be sent in to me. I will probably have a couple full lights on hand at first but they will probably go quick.
But i will still keep an eye on this  |
Interested.

While you're at it, a set of diffused white circle front parking lights with yellow turn signal centers would be an awesome match.

^ I've got some COB based LED rings showing up today or tomorrow to assess for that specific use. I'll post up my thoughts on them. I've never seen any LED "angel eyes" that I thought looked very good but these look promising.

Off topic but answering Peter's comments about doing circular white LEDs on the front 99 spec turn signals:
The COB LED rings showed up today. Here is a quick mock up showing the light output: https://www.rx7club.com/attachment.p...1&d=1424211708 I have to say, these are the first LED halo rings I have tested that impress me. They look OEM as they are uniform in their light output. In addition, the brightness is the best I have seen to date. Wicked bright. Just looking at them for a moment makes you see circles. Note the iPhone 6 camera pic can't adjust properly for the level of brightness. I am still going to compare it to one of the Audi style curvy DRL lights I have been working on, but this might be the way to go for me. I'll wire them up so when the turn signal is activated, the LED circles on that particular side turn off. Would match my taillights and could be cool. |
