Rotary Extreme FC and FD VM GB status updates

All,

This thread is for all Rotary Extreme FC and FD customers who have already placed an order and are wanting a status update.

The reason for this thread is due to my inexperience in running a business and poor time management causing a terrible delay in products delivered and to show as much transparency as possible.

I apologize to all for all the dismay I have caused you.

From start to finish it takes about 6 weeks to make a kit.

Since I have everyone’s parts, (except for the free upgrades in the FC kits) I should be able to build 2 a month. The goal is to get everyone’s kit to them by the end of the year.

I really don’t want to make excesses in here for the delays, I have already done that in others threads. This thread has been created to show progress and to allow everyone to see where they are at so they can make a better plan for themselves as well.

I will update with a list of orders over the weekend.

If you do not see your name on here or the incorrect order please email me at [email protected].

I want as much as you for you to have your VM kit and not be the root of all evil.

How it will go, I will build 1 FD and 1 FC kit in parallel.

You will see that more FD kits are in progress and that's because I was working on those while I was retrofitting the FC kit for better fitment and implementing the additional free upgrades into the final revision. FD kits have also been retrofitted with A/C placement on top of the radiator and updated ducting and cover panel. I will post pics when I can and when there has been enough progress on each kit.

Listed in order to be built.

FC VM kits

Incubuseva - in progress 60% done
MaczPayne
Wazway
SpeedyRotary
M. Connolly
Izzy
M.Gutierrez
SSRat
G. McCreery

FD VM Kits

D. Cooper - in progress 85% done
A. Britton - in progress 50% done
N.HO - in progress 30% done
J.Desmond - in progress 30% done
M.Ramlakhan
N.Inmon

Thank you for your patience.
Ben

the kit is off the car, i have the radiator being modified sometime this week. the fabricator i go to works from home and its his hobby so i have to work with him on a date. if i show pics its just a mess pieces and its not a good update of pics.

i will come up with something very worthy as soon as i get stuff back from the welder.

Looking forward to buy a kit from you, when you get out of the mess. I've read most of the GB thread, and I have to admit that you can handle a lot of pressure! Hope everything goes well!

I was planning on being part of the group buy in 2011, but I was a bit broke at that time. If everything goes well, I'll probably buy one when you are ready. Hope you stay in business, and that you can move out of that shitty area. Working with that kind of pressure is sure not healthy.

Thanks I really appreciate it. It is proven that a company is nothing without the customers.

Appreciate the update. Are you making all the FC kits first? Seems you may have lost a few of the FC guys or already got their kits out? Anyways, take care of yourself Ben. Looking forward to a good outcome.

worked from 2pm to 5pm on D.Coopers FD VM kit

fabricated oil cooler brackets to allow the oil coolers to sit behind the 99 re-bar. new line fittings need to be orderd. I thought I had a mocal thermostat in stock but I don't so that will need to be ordered to continue with the oil cooler kit. I need to place the oil thermostat in its assigned location so that I can make the correct length for the oil cooler lines. kit is on hold for now.

I will jump back on Incubuseva FC VM kit
I will work on this kit Friday and Saturday, will update with progress

no work performed on other kits

taking sunday off for the super bowl - go seahawks.

saturday - no physical work performed on any kits due to the wifes dominant hand being out of commission so I had to do everything for her. day after surgery is the worst.

however i did not let the day go to waste, I ordered parts needed for several kits.

sunday- no work performed - what a game, good job patriots

Butler will probably get a bonus check.

Monday morning I am buying ac/dc aluminum tig welder to be able to tac the parts in place, this way I dont have to drive around the the fabricators and have them tac it then i bring it home test fit it again then drive back to them for the final welding.

this can take up to 2 days just to do a 15 min tac job to guarantee fitment before welding it all up, sometimes i have to wait a week for him to be free.

now I can get a bunch of stuff done and just bring it all to him, easier for everyone.

took Friday off
personal family needs on sat

woke up early to the rain today (sunday) but I made some room in the garage to work.

I will be working on various things for the kits.

I just need to work and make progress where I can.

If it stops raining at all today I will jump back on test fitting the cores and pipes on both the FD and FC

today after a night of watching youtube videos at work

I have an Everlast AC/DC 185 DV (DV = Dual voltage 110/230)

mission: tac weld = complete

attempt: lay a decent bead = complete

p.s. I only need to tac the pipes in 3 spots, just 3 little dots.... not a bunch of tacs around the whole pipe......lol
