YES!! its another "turbo blown" thread

Long story short... t04e... motor blew, car sat for a year, turbo ran for 10 minutes, sat for another nine months..

Just swapped in another motor and got it running today.. Idled high yada yada

Started billowing smoke out of the exhaust under all rpms, so i was pissed. I look under the car and where the dp bolts to the cat-back, theres a huge puddle of oil, like at leas a 1/4 quart, and this was only after not even 2 minutes of running

But... There was also oil in the hotpipe, and intake pipe. But no oil in the cold pipe.

The turbo also has no shaft play, now to me this doesn't sound right, how could this much oil be coming out, or the exhaust and intake side of the turbo, without and oil traveling through into the throttle body?

This is just a possibility, but when I built my car with a to4b the oil outlet line was slightly kinked, barely visible. When I started it up I had the same problems, lots of smoke, oil in downpipe and compressor housing. I installed a larger outlet line and adjusted the angle of the oulet on the turbo by loosening the bolts that hold down the clips on both sides of the center housing and spun it until it lined up better. With that done and the larger diameter outlet hose I had no more problems. Still no leaking after 7000 miles, and turbo didnt seem to be damaged by the incident. P.S. some shaft play is ok. If this isnt the problem then your turbo bearings and seals could be damaged and causing the leaking. Hope this helps.
