WTB 88 T2, But has fuel leak..

Hey guys,

I'm trying to help a friend out who is looking at purchasing a RX7 Turbo. We've been looking through craigslist and found a couple. There was one on there with a fuel leak from the manifold, but I have no idea how hard it would be to fix. Are there any common types of fuel leaks with this generation Rx's that anyone knows about? Sorry for the rough outline on the problem, this is all the information I have to work with. He lowered it from $4500 to $3500, but an not sure if it's worth it (it's an 88 T2).

Thanks,

common problem is the pulsation damper which can easily be fixed with a banjo bolt from an s5 N/A fuel rail at the opposite end of the fuel rail. other possible leaks are injector o-rings or a split fuel hose.

to protect yourself i would suggest just replacing all of these parts.

upper intake gasket
injector o-rings, upper and lower
fuel pressure and return hoses, you can use bulk fuel hose for this
remove the pulsation damper and install a banjo bolt from an S5(88-92 RX7) with it's copper washer in it's place

all in all it is about a $50 repair and peace of mind that you shouldn't have any fuel leaks for a while.
