wondering if my motor is blown help!!!
 

hey whats up forum, im new to this , but i need help.I own a 86 rx7 non-turbo, lately ive been getting hesitations under load.Just the other day i was starting my car and it ran ruff for a while.No blue smoke seen,but it looked like it was running rich tons of black smoke then running at idle it shut off and never started again regardles of attemps to de-flood motor help!!!

The way to tell if you have a blown motor is to check the compression. Mazda dealerships have a precise rotary specific tester, but there are some poor man's ways to test. If you remove one spark plug from each rotor and pull the EGI and fuel relay fuses (that way the car wont start) and crank it over a couple times, you should hear equally tones hisses of air in sets of three (for the three faces of each rotor). Also, you can go to your auto parts store and get an el-cheapo compression checker and remove the schrader valve from it and plug it into the spark plug hole for an actual value. You should get over 100 psi peaks for each face of the rotor on each chamber. Mind you these are poor man's ways to check it and they may still be wrong or if the motor isnt warm it could still screw up your readings, but it will give you an idea on whether or not you need to look into it in a lot more detail, or if you need to look at something else like the fuel or ignition system.

better yet I think your AFM sirflowmeter is jacked or you ave a leak in the intake manifold somewhere after the air filter..Mabey a worn AFM..
Also check that your spark plug wires are connected correctly..the leading are on bottom and the trailing on top of the motor..alot of people fuk this up..anyways if it's not that im stumped cause usually a blown motor smokes or eatc coolant.. probably not blownm..
