Will a TII tranny bolt to this engine?

1 Attachment(s)
Newbie question: Will a TII transmission bolt to this 4-port 13b? If so, what parts will I need from the TII car? I.e., besides the tranny, will I need the flywheel? TII clutch assy? TII starter? What if anything else?

The engine/tranny will be going into a non-RX project vehicle, so all the usual issues of shifter lining up with the hole in the tunnel, etc, don't apply. I just really need to know what is involved in putting a beefier tranny behind this 4-port.
Thanks in advance.

There are a couple of ways to attach a TII tranny to that engine. The tranny will physically bolt to the engine...but the stock TII flywheel will not balance correctly on that 4 port 13b that you have. One way to go about this is to find a bellhousing from a 1974-1978 rotary engine manual transmission car and replace the TII tranny bellhousing with it(direct bolt on) and then your TII tranny will work on your engine using a non turbo flywheel. If your engine uses a 225mm clutch, then you can buy a hybrid clutch disc from Mazdatrix that has the TII spline and the smaller 225mm n/a clutch diameter. In this case you can use your current flywheel, starter, etc.
If your engine has a 215mm flywheel on it, then you can get a stock GSL-SE flywheel so that you can run the 225mm hybrid clutch disc on it and so the engine will balance correctly.
If, you want to use the TII tranny as is with the TII bellhousing, then you need to get a rear counterweight that is from an automatic version of your engine and get a lightweight TII 235mm flywheel to bolt to the counterweight. Then you will use the TII clutch, starter, etc.
I hope that wasn't too confusing!

One thing that I didn't mention though is that I'm pretty sure that Mazdatrix only sells the hybrid clutch discs in either the 4 or 6 puck unsprung center hub. Generally, they are a bit much for a street car.
