Will A Fd Tranny Fit Fcs5?????

Hey, I was just wondering if the FD's tranny will fit in my FCS5 GXL with out any major mods?? I bought a performance clutch kit to install in my car but, instead finding out my tranny is done for  !!! Please Respond.

I'm 99% sure the bolt pattern from the bellhousing to the engine is the same, but the legnth is different so you will need a different shaft from the tranny to the differential. I'm not sure if the FD shaft will fit the FC differential.

The FD tranny clutch slave cylinder works different that the FC one does. Its call a pull type. I'm not exactly sure what that means, but I'm assuming that the fluid enters the chamber on the opposite side of the actuating arm, causing the cylinder to retract instead of extend like the FC slave cylinder.

Don't know if the FD tranny shifter will line up with the hole in the FC floor.

Ok, well if I have to go through all that trouble then it's not worth it. I was just thinking of useing a FD because its stronger then the NA FC. What if I get a FC turboII tranny will it bolt up an use all the na parts? Like can I use my NA clutch and drive shaft too? Thanks project84! :)

No, and NO.

FD trans uses a 1" input shaft - same as the FC turbo one.
Your NA uses a 7/8" input shaft, so at the very least the clutch disc will not be usable.
