White smoke from front Rotor?
I've got a 88 vert with true dual exhaust on it, and about twice a week when I start it up it smokes really bad, but only from the front rotor. I know that it is common for 2nd gens to smoke, but this is a full on smoke screen. The smoke is a real thick white color, and it seems to hang close to the ground (don't know if that helps). It will also blow out big white puffs of smoke inbetween gears if I am driving hard. Or if I hold my rpms at about 5500rpm +. Anyone got any ideas about what this could be? Coolant seal maybe?

It's a coolant seal, alright. Had the same problem about 6 months ago on my FD. All symptoms matched yours. A rebuild might be in order. Block-weld and the like will prove to be only a band-aid fix until the inevitable arrives.

Now all they need is, liquid apex seal and rotor housing fixer in a can :) LOL
Yeah Ive always heard that those stop leaks are good for one thing, gumming up the motor, but if you arent gonna rebuild it personally then why not :) |
One thing to be careful of if you decide to do a temporary "stop leak" treatment, in addition to clogging up said engine, you also run a very real risk of clogging up your heater core since it doesn't get quite as strong a flow as the rest of the cooling system.
