Where were 13B 4 ports used?
SCCA Formula Mazda uses a 13B non-turbo 4 port engine. Does anyone know what cars used this engine? I'm not sure that it ever came to the US.
Thanks, Bob |
umm what i recall it was the second gen Turbo blocks that used 4 port plates.

they are probably running turbo blocks without the turbos.

a 4-port is 12a irons with 13b housings and rotors turbo or non
|
that only applies to "making" your own old-style 4-port 13B. the factory old 13Bs are the ones that Wackyracer listed above. any new-style 4-port 13B would have to be based on a turbo block, T, RE or REW. period.

Overseas never stopped the 4-port 13b's like they did here when the 1st gen rx-7 came out.
I've seen 84 to 85 13b 4-ports. |
what were those engines used in? a Cosmo? a Luce? i thought the US was the only country to get 13B Gen I Rx-7s, since we didn't get a 12A Turbo - and of course we got the 6s.

Back in the early 90's I knew a guy who use to import them a lot from where I don't know either.. They were basically 12a side plates with GSL-SE rotor housings from factory with carbs. That's about the same time I saw my first 6-port 12a motor something at the time I never knew exsisted |
