Do this ... I swear I read somewhere you needed to buy

If you can spring for one... I really recommend you get a TR-01 Rotary Engine Compression Tester rotary tester. Tell em scrapp sent you...


AFAIK, using a normal tester:
You remove the valve at the end of the tester, (and pull the EFI fuse,) While holding the compression bleeder valve open, crank and watch the number that the needle keeps jumping to. Maybe 8 or so cranks to get an idea.

i gonna get a lot of flack for this but yes, you can use a regular one. however, it will not be accurate like the mazda one. with el cheapo, anything over 90psi is ok. 80s-70s iffy. the cheap one / regular will mostly tell you yay or nay. which for me works...
