Where to buy simple and accurate boost gauge????
 

I want a boost gauge and some other gauges... but I don't want to pay millions for a gauge. I do not need JDM this and that, I do not need it to read me books, I do not need to sing to me while I drive. I just want accurate readings that will not make me call ditech for a first and second mortgage in one phone call. Thanks in advance and sorry for the extremism but I am 17 so money matters. for a 94 touring by the way.

Ok so the boost is good from autometer but what other gauges are safe to get from them? I heard the water temp gauge was inaccurate?

VDO gauges are OEM in many Porsches, so you can bet the quality is good. They look nice, and are not expensive. I have 3 of them under my single unit stereo. Looks like stock.

buy the VDO vision series from egauges.com. I have it for close to a year now and like it alot more than the autometer.

VDO is great for the money, I'm going on 5 years with mine and it still works and looks like new.

these gauges are extremely accurate, high quality, have lifetime warrantee and are inexpensive.

If you know about European Car, VDO gauges are everywhere, from VW to Porsche. They made OEM Gauge for most of European Car Manufacturer.

Ok now that that is settled, what about intercoolers and intakes? I think the apexi power intakes are best from what I understand, but I have no idea about intercoolers? I do not want to start an FMIC/SMIC war so I will just say the radiator comes first. What is a good SMIC? ASP/M2 shit is WAAAAYYY TOO EXPENSIVE so don't even bring them up. 1500 bucks and the shit doesn't even fit? ok nevermind about that issue.. What is the best SMIC intercooler for stock twins?

No, but I don't have deep pockets and ripoffs bother me. I can't just overpay because a guy is nice.

Which gauges do I need? Boost, water temp, then what? Should I get mechanical or electric?

Ok, you get electric water temp of course. Boost gauges are either purely mechanical or combination Electric/Mechanical. Both are fine, the purely mechanical are cheaper but the vaccuum hose has to got all the way into the gauge, where if you have a sending unit like on a electric/mechanical gauge you can mount the sender with the vac hose anywhere and then run the leads to your mounting location.

As I said earlier I have boost, water and intake temp. Those are the most important IMHO. an a/f is important but unless its wideband its just for decoration.

Hey don't hate on newbies, at least I am doing reliability mods first and not asking where I can get a T88H-34D. ok so those three gauges. Then I need the CWR dual oiler coolers but I do not remember the site for them. any other reliability mods? I have the vacuum hoses done, fluidyne radiator, downpipe, highflow cat, rearsection, lightweight flywheel, street/strip clutch. The car came with a brand new OEM AST, should I just go on ahead and replace it? then I will need a PowerFC, intake, then intercooler. Is this a good start/path?

Like pomanferrari I used to use Autometer gauges all the time (in my Integra) but this time around I wanted something that matched the stock gauges (because I'm replaceing the stock temp and pressure gauges themselves with these) as well as possible without needlessly (imo) spending huge sums of money on Defi gauges when that money could go else where. Upon recieving and installing them I was extremely impressed with the craftsmenship, and amazed how inexpensive they are considering the quaility. I recommend them hands down.

By the way, I'm using VDO Vision black face gauges, but VDO makes a wide range of styles, all of which I assume are of similar high quality.

Yes, like what the majority said, get a VDO gauge. My PFS Boost Gauge ($90) is basically a VDO gauge w/ a "PF" on it. It's VERY accurate comprared to some of the AutoMeter ones I've used. Anyways, don't waste your money on digital boost gauges.

whats wrong with a digital boost gauge? In some ways they are much better than regular gauges. Thanks.
