what's the weaknesses of the renesis motor?
I know there are some parts that are better in it, like the e-shaft, but what are the weaknesses of that engine vs. the 13brew?

Why do you have such an eccentric shaft fetish?
How about the high compression rotors? Or the stronger 2-piece seals? Maybe it would be easier if you just asked what isn't stronger on the Renesis, like the tiny exhaust ports. That is all that comes to mind. |
just curious ... is this for your curiosity or do you have a specific question in mind?
"stronger" is really pointless because both engines do what they were designed to do very well - especially in the context of time. |
I think there is a blurring of the ideas here of a weak output and a weak design, neither of which are the case, especially in the correct context.

exactly!
i understand natural progress and Renesis fits that bill to a tee, but some of the stuff i read, with people looking to better the REW's game makes me think that there is, indeed, a blurring of ideas, or rather, ideology. |
I would think the research and development still has some room for improvement. You dont get much power from bolt on parts on it from what I hear. Its a great NA engine as it is, but peak power of the older 13's seems to be a little better with all the different ports, but probably without the powerband of a renesis.
BTW has anyone built a lower compression boosted renesis? I would like to see the results on that. Ive been hearing mixed results with the stock high comp renesis with bolt on turbo kits |
