What's the difference between 1...n conductor wire?

I need to do some rewiring in my FD, I see that some wires come with 1, 2, 3, and 4 "conductors". What's the difference between these wires?

Thanks!

Wire

I dont want to sound like a smart a$$ but if your asking that question, do you really think you should be rewiring your car yourself? But to answer your question, a conductor is a current carrying wire. 1 conductor has 1 wire, 2 conductor has 2 wires and so on. An example is household wiring, AKA romex. They have 12-2, 12 being the gauge or size of the wire and 2 being the number of conductors.

Actually 12-2 wire has a total of 3 wires in it, 2 conductors and 1 ground, but thats used for construction not automotive wiring.
