If your talking about one for your 3rd gen, you don't need one.

That was an interesting reply about no lite needed on a 3rd gen. Please tell a poor 1st and 2nd gen how this is so on a 3rd gen?

The timing is done by the computer.

I wish I had a white 85 GSL-SE. I have never driven one, how much can you mod one and how quick would it be. How is the handling.

obviously you guys don't know of a good timing light. some people have more than one rx-7 in their driveway. thanks for the input it really helped out. how do morons like you know how to use a computer? by the way the white gsl-se(s)drive the same as the other colored gsl-se(s), einstein.

I use an OTC unit with an adjustable advance. any professional tool company will have timing lights available, snap on, mac, matco, craftsman, etc. figure you should spent over $50 to get a decent model. Even if the cars ECU controls the timing it maybe necessary to check that it is correct from time to time. especially if any modifications have been made.

My Mum does my computing for me. She says your rude to be talking like that. Irv says that third generation cas are keyed, therefore there must be but one way to install them. That answered my question. Gee, I sure do want to write more, but the monitors on this site don't condone what I want to write.

Your completely right some people do own more than one rx7. I wish I were one. I just figured you were asking about one for the FD, because you are in the FD specific section and your name implies you have a red FD. Sorry.

I would go with the Snap-on. My Unlce has a Snap-on which he likes very well.

On the handling of the gsl-se, if I had to guess I would say a darker color would handle worse, because it would generate more heat around the car causing it to feel floaty.

Never claimed to be highclass. Just gets the job done. Don't do it for a living, and only use it once or twice a month. Its attractive for me due to the simplicity. Simple is as simple does, said dad.

thanks for the input. i narrowed it down to either one sears sells with an adjustment for degrees or the equios (i think that is how it is spelled. both of them are below $100. some timing lights can go up to $350+
