What to do with my turbo ??

Hi, i recently bought a 1991 RHD/JDM RX7 Turbo II. I was told by the owner that the turbo was malfunctioning. The previous owner disassembled it to find out that there was a play in the shaft. My question is : what should i do, shouid i replace it ? or get it rebuilt ?

By the way what is the stock turbo called ?

Thanks

I call my Turbo "HOLY FUUUU******!"

you can call your stock Turbo a Hitachi Ht18-S.

You can rebuild it or buy a used one,or go aftermarket, all depending on what you can afford really.
Aftermarket means getting another manifold as the Ht18-s has a proprietary flange not like the t3 or t4 flange.Totally different flange.
Look up rebuilding the Ht18-s with those exact words,I think a thread pops up.I remember reading one.The kit uses a kit from I think the GO-POP shop.
