Weather strip
So I have a 91 rx7 convertible and my weather strip is starting to rot. Try finding the oem but that's hard to find ones that are almost to that point. What's a universal or how best way to address the issues thanks?

OEM is your only choice. no dealership will stock it, but they can all order it. its going to be $$ though

Is there no way to adapt some weatherstripping off of newer cars to work? Just thinking that doing a junkyard run and trying to find a close match might save some money. Everybody smiles at me when i walk into my local dealership looking for OEM parts. the wallet limps.

Mazdatrix has them and the ones they sell are improved over the initial ones made for they would peel and expose the metal underneath. If you want your car to look newer then you need to pony up the money and you won't regret it once they are installed.

Have you thought about contacting Ray Crowe at Malloy Mazda for this? He's usually able to get just about any OEM you need and his prices are DAMN hard to beat...
