Walbro 255 Fuel Pump!!!!

WILL THE WALBRO 255 LPH FUEL PUMP SUPPORT 500 RWHP???

Claudio RX-7 09-20-03 11:44 PM

From what i've heard the Walbro High Flow pump, the GSS341/2, can support up to 6 550cc injectors, which in term can support enough fuel for about that much HP.

So i guess it could, but im pretty sure, if you set fuel pressure static at 45psi it would.

No, it won't.
My calculations come out to a conservative 350bhp only.
You'd need to run two of these if you want to support that kinda power levels.

Well, it also depends on how many injectors you use, and if we are talking about RWHP or FHP.

The walbro pump can do over 400fhp or 350rwhp with 4 550cc injectors, that is a fact.

And i still think you have enough left for more, the trick is the fuel pressure. If you can keep it static and constant, then you can get away with probably more.

Here, have a look, the lower you can set the pump's pressure the more galons per hour you can get out of it, the more galons per hour you have available the more HP you can generate. Of course, your injectors might come to full duty and then you would need to upgrade them, but still, it is a wonderful little pump. If you take a look at that graph, with the walbro high flow pump, you have enough fuel from it at 55 galons per hour at 50psi, which means you have enough fuel there for 4 720cc injectors that will support up to 550 hp to the crank/flywheel. He he, it looks very pretty on paper, but will hold water in the real world, i dont know, who wants to try it? :D

With the 1600 secondaries you do need more fuel volume, that means you also need a good regulator, like the aeromotive or SX. So i would recommend using 2 walbros. That combination is good for over 550hp to the wheels.

To be honest, i like the SX and Aeromotive better, havent met the B&M.

4x1000cc injs. 1.3kilo on a T51S, outer bridge, 13bre Cosmo motor, the fuel pressure would fall off at the end of third gear. At 1.1 no problems. Static fuel pressure was 3bar.

What kind of pump you got? fuel lines, and regulator?

I honestly dont like to have such big injectors for primaries.

It looks like your pump isnt cutting it.
