Very Interesting...operating on 3 spark plugs?

When I was leaving my Psychiatrist today I went to start up my FC. I was horrified when it gave me a strange noise the first 2 attempts and wouldnt start. On the third try it started up and it drove home like normal. I had just gone to see a Doctor for anxiety and now Im thinking my engine is blown. So I get home and go to add a half quart of oil which I do every 8-1000 miles and notice the top left spark plug wire is COMPLETELY OFF! What the hell? Any explanations?

At least I was reassured Ive got a few more miles before a 1900 dollar rebuild :)

Plug wire falling off isn't unheard off. The noise you heard may have been the crackling of the coil arcing to ground through open plug wire.

hmm, yah i noticed they dont snap on very tight. unless it fell off from the time i turned off the car to opening the hood i drove about 10 miles with it disconnected from the plug.

atleast you found the problem instead of causing more damage to your motor

I'd get a new set of plug wires, they should snap on securely enough so that they don't just fall off.

your fine if you didn't boost to much, replace all the plug and wires just to be safe. all you did kill the gas mileage and left allot of unburnt fuel.

that explains the trouble starting since then and the flames coming from my exhaust

Hahahaha you say that so casually. Owning rx7s is the best.

I love it. Oh and I wasnt boosting at all im an N/A guy.

just get a new set and secure these down better shouldnt be too hard of a fix

ive had this problem happen before and at first i thought it was my coil packs it scared the shit outta me though
