um.... kinda off topic in relation to rx7's, but on topic in relation to rotories

Ok, so i guess it's kinda weird and off topic, but i think my 87 range rover needs a new engine. Rotary engines intrigue me, and i think the design is really ingenius, and i was wondering what it would take, if possible to put in a 2 rotor or 3 rotor engine. Would it be possible to gear a rotary to perform as an suv engine? just curious... also, if it is possible, could i get a price range?

thanks for any help/info,

~Jeremy

As the saying goes in the automotive world (and other things as well): Anything is possible with enough money.

Question is, who would do it for you? The conversion you are considering requires custom fabrication of just about every piece required to make it possible. From motor mounts to transmission to fuel & ignition programming, there are a myriad of things that need to be considered. I really couldn't quote you any estimated price, but considering the 20B conversions for us FD owners can cost upwards of $30K, the cost of your proposed project may prove to be astronomical, to say the least. But if you or someone you know can pull it off, more power and respect to you! You will definitely make all the magazines with an accomplishment like that. Best of luck to you!
