turbo and ps died then came back to life!!?!

i have an 88 turbo ae, stock except for exhaust, this is my problem..

i bought the car a couple of weeks ago(has 116000kms) and everything under the hood was strong, drove it for while one day, everything fine. the next day it felt sluggish, like i lost a shit load of hp. then today, still felt no turbo powerband, and i lost power steering while driving. stopped to get something to eat, when i fired it back up, ps was back and my turbo seems to regained 90% of the feel i had when i first bought it... HELP!

im guessin its prolly a sensor or a computer.. also is the ecu the "brain" of the car or is there 2 computers.

thx fer the help

Check all of your grounds and make sure they have a clean, secure connection.

well, the turbo as you should know is exhaust driven and should not be having electrical problems. either it spools or it doesn't. the power steering is electronic, speed sensitive power steering. why it was out could be caused by a heated wire losing contact with it's appropriate connection. when it cools, it makes contact and thus, you have a cconnection. the car may have felt slow due to a heat soaked intercooler. they heat quickly and you lose a little power. perhaps it is not your turbo at all or intercooler. perhaps it is an electrical issue where the car is being staved of fuel or a little air. more info would be good. if you don't have it, we can try to go from there.

Hah. Yah, I know that feeling. Please tell us how you fix it if you figure out the problem.

well i havent had the power steering prob since, so i left it for now, as for the turbo, i guess im not use to haveing an engine that has max horsepower only SOME of the time. only ever own n/a engines.. its fine.. prolly was just that.. heat soaked tmic.
