Trouble with tire balance?

What's been your experience with tire balance on your RX-7 or any other car?

After you've balanced your wheels, how long do they seem to stay in balance? Does it seem they go out of balance easily, or does it last a long time?

I've just had the tires/wheels rebalanced on my FD and it drives like a dream. I can't believe how smooth it is. I don't think they were way out of balance, but enough to notice the difference.
I last had them balanced about 7,000 miles ago.
I also noticed that the new weights went on about 2 in.
from where the previous weight was, and it was exactly the same for every wheel. I'm not sure I've ever noticed that happening before. As I remember, usually some wheels are out and others are okay.

What's it been like for your car?

Rotate and Balance

I have always had to rotate and balance about every 5000 to 7000 miles on my 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Gens. I have new tires on my 87 TII...only car I have left :( and I will have to rotate and balance at 5000 miles. I think I have noticed the same thing about the weights after the tires were broken in good. The weights would move a little on each wheel in the same direction distance. I dunno why though.
Hope that helps...

It all depends on who does the balancing, on what machine, and the quality of weights. The wheels should stay balanced for the life of the tires. If you drive on bumpy roads a lot or get crap stuck to the inside of the rim, they could get unbalanced.
