Too expensive for a 1986 NA??

Theres a 1986 FC N/A selling near by.

He has it listed for $3000

It has a rebuilt engine with 2k miles
and a new tranny wit only 40k miles

automatic
custom exhaust
header
intake

if u guys need any other info about it please ask

I would say mildly expensive. Unless of course its a GXL with the adjustable sport suspension package. If it is, thats a great buy assuming it runs and is in good condition interior and exterior wise. However, the r & r of the rotary engine alone would cost you about that at a decent shop. Bottom line is, do you think its worth it?

I'd hope to sell my 1989 GXL for about $3000 - but it does have a manual transmission, and has new sport shocks.

But, my engine was rebuilt 35,000 miles ago,
has the original tranny,
has an "intake" (cold air box)
but doesn't have the header or custom exhaust ( i hope it will soon)

I have absolutely no demand for an automatic sports car - therefore I can't price this for me. This depends completely on your supply and demand. Just know that the automatic transmission takes out the best things about these engines, their response and ability to rev high.

I don't know how prices are where you live, but IMO that is priced about $1k high. Granted is has a rebuilt engine, but then again it's an auto. Personally I would never pay much over $2k for a stockish n/a s4. Just my .02

actual turbo and non-turbo fc3s retail price are rising here in arizona, I have an1986 fc3s 5 speed thats gutted on the insde with nothing modified and the mazda dealer here want to give me almost $10,000.00 grand for my car which has emissions problems from hell.

I wouldn't pay that much for an automatic

too much!!

Its an automatic so you're probably gonna want to convert it sometime in the future so add the cost of conversion on top of that price. I bought my 86 fc base luxury model stickshift from the original owner with all original records for 2000 and he was a true rotary fanatic who took care of his car. you can definitely find a better deal. 3000 is just too much. hope that helped you.
