Timing is off... BAD

hey... i had an earlier post, but the title was unattractive i suppose...

the timing on my car is very off, no matter how much i turn the CAS (to its limit one way or the other), the timing will not align. it is too high (the lines are towards the passenger side of the car about half an inch. ive redone the timing, pulling the CAS out, aligning it with the small mark (the small one nearest to the top of the CAS), then dropping it in. did i do this correctly? also, my battery is relocated to behind the passenger seat, would this affect the timing? what else could it be? thanks, Jordan

I have the same problem. I was wondering if the actual pulley could be off by one notch, because the car idles smooth just a little on the low side.

i fixed it now... what i did is took of the top of the CAS and dropped it back in... with the top off, you can see if the sensor moves while you drop it in... throwing it off by a notch. try that... also, you can retard or advance your timing just a bit to line it up as i had to... simply move the main drive pulley marks in front of or behind the pointer, and then drop the pulley back in... to time it normally, for the leading coil, line up the yellow mark and drop the CAS back in. hope it works dor you
