Throwout bearing
I just changed my clutch pressure plate and t/o bearing. It is still whining. Im pretty sure it isnt the syncros because it stops when I push in the clutch. Does the t/o bearing need to break in? Or does anyone know why it is still doing this?

Could b the tranny input shaft front bearing
|
I changed it too. The tranny fell once but my finger broke its fall. Thank god it was only about a foot to the tranny jack.

It's most likely an inside transmission bearing because when you push on the clutch pedal you are stoping the movement in the tranny. If it's the one i am thinking about it gets quiet in 3rd gear.

It is slowly curing its self so I am not too concerned. Ive only had the car for about a week and I changed the clutch and all the related parts and the tranny was only about half full and the fluid was fubar. so it may be internal prob. Damn I hope not. Thanks for the help.

did you replace the pilot bearing?
|
Yes i replaced the pilot bearing. The noise is starting to cure itsself so I am not going to worry about it. Thanks though.

the help is always here on the forum. a lot of 7's i have owned have been self healing. i think it is a charactor trait of the 7.
