three rotor, high comp. N/A

I have thought about this for years. Has anyone ever seen, or heard of anyone making a 20B, high compression non-turbo motor? I would think that this would be very great. Lightning throttle response, great torque, no turbo heat-weight-complication. Could anyone estimate the weight difference of a 20B N/A versus a 13B-REW, considering the turbos, intercooler, piping, heavy manifold, etc? I would love to see a set of 20B N/A hedders, I can picture it all in my head. I am in the middle of an intense 510 project (using full FD subframes, PPF, suspension, etc) and was just wanting some other opinions.

Thanks,
Brad P.

Just found the 20B section, comments are still welcome.

i've heard of this before. i can remember even seeing a picture of one, but i've never laid eyes on one in person.

i can't recall for sure, but i think Jeff20B (on this forum) is building one - but i might be mixing him up with someone else.

How much power are you looking for?
We just made 232 at the wheels, which is a lot if you look at the torque graph.
This is on a bone stock 20B sans turbo system.
Pics of the car in the 20B section.

i you were to use the 9.7 rotors from an s5 n/a, you should get some great power out of the thing.

just make sure to get it all balanced--as you'll have parts from 2 motors as donors.

www.mazdatrix.com sells RX-8 rotors for $311.23. They have a 10:1 compression ratio. I'm not 100% sure on the specs as far as the size of the apex seals, and whether or not they work with non-renesis 13B housings, or 20B housings. Something to consider though.

outstanding.
i suggested the 9.7 because i didn't know the reni's were available cheap yet.

I'd go with 9.7 over the Renesis rotors unless I got a good deal on them. Then I'd need to mod some Renesis counterweights or lighten some 20B counterweights.

300 is a great deal...
