Think I Blew My Engine

85 GSL-SE. Parked it last night and the rubber floor mat forced the accelerator to the floor. Rpms pegged for about 5-10 seconds before I was able to get to the floorboard to remove the mat.Started it this morning and heard a loud knock like a rod in a piston engine. Knock ceased in about 15 seconds. Now it won't idle and skips and runs at about 50% of normal performance.
Did I take out my apex seals? Any ideas on where to start trouble shooting? Could I hopefully damaged the ignition system? Any tips will be appreciated.
Thanks
John

Do a compression test. If you don't have a rotary tester a regular one will suffice you just have to look for the 3 bumps for each apex seal.

will do .

I had a similar issue, and motor wasn’t blown

Just had a compression check. front rotor 25 lbs psi on all 3 bumps front rotor. rear rotor 10 lbs psi on all 3 bumps. Not good.

It is really strange for both rotors to show such low compression due to one incident on a stationary NA .
Was the throttle being held open during the compression check?

Also disable the fuel pump for this test.
