tec help please i want to ride this season

OK i have the problem with my rear. when the car hits 20 mph the right wheel start hopping . so i was thinking the bushings so i just finished changing them and its still doing it. i then thought it could be the strut so i jacked the rear up and tried it again 25 mph it starts to shake again. wheel bearings and new tires.....still doing it. i even put another rim on there thinking maybe just maybe rims might be bent but again its still shaking.. so i get under and pulled on the axles and theres slite play on the right side where its bolted to the differential could this be the problem?....how do you know when the differential is shot?.... Then out no where while im just letting the car idle she shuts off. i look at the main fuses under the hood and the 30A RETRACTOR fuse blew put in another and it blew out again.. why me..why anybody. if theres anybody who had any of these problems before or just might know whats going on please post something.

have you inspected the half shafts for wear??? does the rear click around corners or grind?

full-cruise 05-09-04 02:53 PM

how are the rear bushings? have you inspected the lateral links for wear or play? the play in the rear may be putting pressure on one or more of the components, causing it to rub or grind, evev being noticed when jacked up.

well i changed the halfshaft and a couple bushing on that side but wont be able to see how it makes out until i find where the bad ground is or what ever it is that making that fuse blow. i will go under again and check that lateral link tho see how thats doing. i will need to put new bushing threw the rear of the car tho. also am going to look for some new struts and spring for the rear there looking kinda hurt.(springs are peeling there paint) but thanks for sticking threw this with me so far i will get back to here when i get her running again.

no prob. keep us updated. there are two lateral links with the ends being ball joint like. the bushings can have a negative effect on the rear alignment if worn. pm schreindogg for more info on bad rear bushings. he is suffering as we speak with bad bushings.

hmmm

OK i got her started today but i don't know how. all i did was move the main harness around to see if i can find a break or anything. didn't see one and thought let me try and see what happens. well she still shakes but not until it gets around 60 or so. im going to see what's up with this strut. one thing i noticed is i put it in 1st and let her idle at 20 mph the left wheel was spinning up to par but the right one was barley moving if at all. now i thought t2's have posy rears aren't both of the wheels supposed to spin the same speeds together when off the ground

actually the TII diff is a limited slip clutch type diff. how are the rear brakes?

full-cruise 05-18-04 09:14 PM

the rear breaks are in good shape. so the rear wheels wouldnt spin together? when the left wheel kicks in there is a slite hum from there rear of the car.

got her out for a ride aaaaaahh that felt good nothing wrong with her. just need to rig up the break booster to the jdm manifold some how.. but parking lights only come on headlights still wont come on or go up or down and when i hit the hi/lo the little blue light isnt coming on in the dash.. could the switch be burnt out?
