"Swoosh"
Does anyone have an audio file containing the sounds that a rotary should make with the spark plugs removed?
Thanks, Matt Walsh. |
Well it seems like the car is making the typical 3 swoosh per cycle sounds. but the car still wont start. I replaced the plugs because the old ones seemed like they were fouled. They are smelled like they had a good amout of fuel on them.
This led me to believe that the car was flooded. I tried the typical "flooded" car start method and was unable to get the car running. I have also tried a compression test but, either I am doing it incorrectly or, the car has zero compression on both rotors(this doesnt seem possible). Normally for a compression test the car must be run to operating temperature. But, since I am unable to start the car what kind of fluctuation should I see on a "cold" test. Any help that the rotary gods cold pass down unto me would be greatly appreciated.:-) Thanks, Matt Walsh. |
get a timing light and check that there is spark.
check that the fuel is getting to the engine. There is a plug under the hood on the passenger side that will operate the fuel pump if you jump the 2 connectors with a jumper wire. Also, the pump will not operate if the flapper door on the AFM doesn't open. There is a signal that goes from the plug on the AFM to the fuel system circuit. Check the Factory Service Manual for more info. |
