Steering wheel extensions and quick releases?

I've had this steering wheel on my FC for 20 years (only 5,000 miles). OMP America

Recently I have started driving it often. I am 6'3" and my right knee rubs a lot on the back of the steering wheel when switching from throttle to brake pedal, and has caused a few hairy incidents. I want to install an extension (2 to 3 inches), or better yet a quick release.

My OMP options appear to be:
Extension - OMP America
Quick relase - OMP America

$400 for a quick release is much more than I want to spend.

Can you guys suggest less expensive options that are safe and not cheapo junk?

TIA

my friends all have the NRG ones, they are pretty good now.

option 2 is a deep dish steering wheel. or just a pain extension.

i've been playing with this too on my FC, the 3" extension was too much, and just the hub is not quite enough. a 10-15mm spacer is probably about right, for me.

it makes a difference

NRG is looking like a good option. In my case the quick release mechanism would be bolted to the existing OMP hub thus bringing the wheel 2.5" closer and being removable. Sounds like a winner for a decent price. Thanks.

I put a NRG quick release on my FD for the same reason. Its been working great.

Received and installed this NRG hub today I checked with NRG and the seller is an authorized NRG dealer.

I freakin' love it! 2.5" closer to me. My knees no longer dragging and bumping the wheel. It is even easier for this old man to get into and out of the car. (When I was a teenager the Lotus Europa was difficult. It would be hell now.)

And the removable wheel! I almost can't wait to have to remove the instrument surround and the instrument cluster without fighting the steering wheel.

Thanks!!!!
