Starting question
 

93 fd only apexi intake and hks bov

My car starts perfectly the first time. If I drive it then stop at the store then try to start again it struggles and I have to crank it a few times before it catches. I'm hopeing it's something simple like it needs plugs. Just my car is way to hot to check. So I thought is pick your guys mind. Thanks

I was having the exact same problem. Mine starts perfect in the morning or after sitting for a few hours. Then after it is warmed up it has a hard time starting. I asked the same question and some people on here told me its probably low compression. I did a compression test with a regular compression guage and held the relief valve open. The compression was low. Meaning its coming in on a rebuild. I'd try that. Or bring it to a tuner or dealer that has a proper rotary compression tester. It sucks but your probably in for a rebuild

is it slow cranking..
Or does the engine roll over strong but refuse to start?

It seems to be strong but just doesn't catch.

It could be leaky injectors, or a tired motor, a warm engine has less compression warm than cold, so it can be harder to start warm.

I would check compression of the engine warm first before putting money into a injector cleaning/replacement

Mine did the same thing a few weeks ago, drove it for about an hour straight, went to dinner with the g/f, tried to start it and it was flooded, compression checked the front rotor a few days later with a new battery and its at 70psi, so i'm fairly positive thats why it flooded on me. But, since i put a new battery in it, it hasn't given me any issues since. starting RPMs mean ALOT with these engines

Thanks for the tips guys. I really do appreciate everything. I'm going to so a compression check and while I have the plugs out I'll check and replace them. I guess it's possible it's the battery. I have drained it out twice on accident

I just bought a 93 FD back in June and had the same problem. The car had a strong fuel odor after shut down so I pulled the fuel rail, deleted the fuel pulsation damper ( search function is a wonderful tool on this forum), pulled injectors and got new o rings and had them flow tested. While I was in there I decided to test the solenoids on the rats nest, and ended up replacing 4 of them ( double throttle, charge relief, charge control, and egr). After all this I had no more hard starts, if you decide to replace injector o rings definitely check your solenoids while you have it all pulled out.
