So do I really need that damn Airpump?
Well I got a straight exhaust now, and my tube to my cat was crimped so I could use the RB dp and silencer pipe. Now I want to get rid of the damn airpump and a/c. . .I heard takign the Air pump is not good, but it sure isn't doing anything. I dont' have to worry about the legality of it all. . .just want to free up hp and weight. I think I saw somewhere on the net that there is some sort of plate that blocks something off once a person removes the airpump. . . But I don't remember where I saw it. . .if anyone has done it, tell me

if your running 6 ports youl need the air pump to open the aux ports. unless you can arrange some other method to open them. then go for it and remove the pump.

According to his profile he has a 87 T2. In which case the Airpump is used to keep the exhaust/Fuel/Air mixture going to the cat in the right proportion. Since it sound like you have already distroyed the cat by crimping the line, you would only need the air pump to pass visual emissions check. |
OH i have the RB downpipe with the silncer, it doesn't use the airpump at all. thanks for replying guys
